Vegas Sicilia has always been one of our favorite wineries. They have magical terroir and a fanatical wine making style that enables them to deliver precision, complexity, and balance in all their wines. Valbuena is truly in a class of its own, always released after five years in barrel and bottle. The hallmarks of this wine are its silky tannins, integrated oak, and balance through the mid-pallette. It’s hard for us to find a wine at its pricepoint that we can recommend with more enthusiasm.

Finally, we will also be tasting Unico, the flagship of Vega Sicilia. These wines have some pleasure at a young age, but the true magic occurs after 5 years in the cellar as this wine begins to truly unfurl and reveal why it is one of Spain’s true treasures.
