Terroir al Limit ‘Terra de Cuques’ Negre 2022

Dominik Huber farms the terraces around Torroja del Priorat, where llicorella slate forces the vines to dig deep for very little. Terra de Cuques Negre is his village wine: half Carignan on pure slate, half Garnatxa on clay and slate, from organically farmed vines of 25 to 40 years.

The winemaking is deliberately light-handed. Whole bunches, wild yeast, seven to ten days of gentle infusion in cement, eight months of rest, early bottling to keep the wine fresh and vital.

The 2022 is red cherry, blood orange peel, dried herbs and warm slate, with silky tannin and cool acidity. Priorat with lift and finesse. Serve it just cool.
