Domaine du Bouchot Pouilly-Fume Terres Blanches 2024
$34.00
Antoine Gouffier took over Domaine du Bouchot in 2018, buying it from his mentors, the Kerbiquets. He grew up on this hill above Saint-Andelain, where his own family, the Minets, farm the neighbouring vineyards, so his understanding of the terroir runs deep. In 2021 Revue du Vin de France named him Vigneron of the Year, and he rapidly became one of the most sought after producers in the region.
Terres Blanches takes its name from the soil: white Kimmeridgian marl, clay and limestone packed with fossilised oyster shells from an ancient seabed. That ground lands straight in the glass. Lemon blossom and crushed seashell on the nose, white peach on the palate, a long saline finish. Sauvignon Blanc with tension and cut rather than volume.
The 2024 is fresh and ready, built for a long lunch outside with grilled wahoo or ceviche.
