Domaine de Saint Cosme is one of the very best producers in the southern Rhône, with owner and winemaker Louis Barruol carefully crafting a range of terroir-driven wines from the heart of Gigondas in the shade of the Dentelles de Montmirail. As well as producing superb single-vineyard bottlings of Gigondas from Le Poste, Hominis Fides and Le Claux, he also makes this distinctive and unique Côtes du Rhône made from 100% Syrah. The vineyards are known for their limestone sand, red clay, and pebbles, which give a freshness and intensity to the Syrah grapes that shows the varietal’s typical spicy notes of sandalwood and black pepper. A must-try for anyone who loves the bold and flavorful wines of the southern Rhône Valley.
