As well as producing some of the most sought-after styles of Port, Quinta do Noval is equally good at making world-class ‘light wines’ (wines anywhere between 11%-15% alcohol).

Each year the Port governing body known as the IVP or Instituto do Vinho do Porto puts a ceiling on the amount of grapes destined for fortified wines ie: Port. Those that remain can either be sold off for distillation into Aguardente (neutral spirit), or used by the Port shippers to produce this elegant, fresh and well-balanced red.

A blend of classic noble Douro varieties, Maria Mansa Tinto is a stunning introductory wine to the Noval range – spicy and fragrant, with a core of pure, ripe red fruits and finely-textured tannins. A true taste of the Douro!
