Quinta do Noval Cedro do Noval Tinto 2022

Quinta do Noval is one of the oldest and arguably the greatest of port houses. Although known for the traditional Port style wines, the estate also produces wonderful dry un-fortified red and white wines, including this week’s wine special, Cedro do Noval Tinto. Named for the ancient cedar that dominates the terrace of Quinta do Noval, Cedro do Noval consists primarily of indigenous Portuguese varieties with a splash of Syrah, where it adds charm, complexity, and dark fruit flavors to complement the Douro’s traditional red grape varieties. It’s lively and energetic, with black plum and raspberry fruit with violet scents and a touch of sweet spice from eleven months of barrel aging.
