Description
Secano means ‘dry-farmed’ — and this wine celebrates the old-vine, unirrigated viticulture that Polkura practices on the granite soils of coastal Colchagua. A Syrah blend with the kind of concentration and tension that only water-stressed vines on poor soils can produce: mineral, precise, with dark fruit and a long, savory finish.
93 points, Vinous – “The 2020 Syrah Secano from Marchigüe was aged in used barrels. Dark garnet red in the glass. The liqueur-like nose offers notes of blackberry, sour cherry, pepper, balsamic aromas and white peach. Concentrated, intense and full of flavor; the tannins are refined. A rare combination of ripeness and acidity, especially given the warm year.”
