Joel Delaunay Sauvignon Blanc ‘La Voute’ 2022

The appetite for terroir driven Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley extends beyond just the town of Sancerre. Thierry Delaunay is the master of Touraine. He’s known for adding subtle complexity without sacrificing purity in his wine, and he never hides behind residual sugar as so many of the mass production larger brands do.

From a relatively new appellation that overlooks the iconic Château Chenonceaux, ‘La Voute’ is Joel Delaunay’s flagship white and a superb expression of Loire Sauvignon Blanc with a subtle blend of exotic fruits, vibrant citrus and floral notes. A brief period of skin maceration and aging on fine lees adds roundness and concentration but it’s in harmony with the zesty acidity which keeps the palate fresh and alive.
