Jacky Marteau Touraine Chenonceaux ‘La Chipie’ Blanc 2023

Touraine-Chenonceaux covers a short stretch of the Cher Valley near the château that gives it its name. The appellation dates to 2011, holds yields below Touraine, and permits only Sauvignon Blanc for its whites.

The Marteau family has farmed at Pouillé for four generations. Ludivine Marteau works 30-year-old vines on south-facing clay and flint above the river. La Chipie, her signature cuvée, sees six hours of skin contact for part of the blend and nine months on the lees in tank, unoaked. Grapefruit, white peach, acacia, and a flinty, textured finish with real length.
