Tracy & Cie Menetou-Salon ‘Madame des Fontaynes’ Blanc 2025

Menetou-Salon sits one village west of Sancerre, on the same Kimmeridgian limestone: the pale, oyster-shell marl that gives Loire Sauvignon Blanc its precision. Same soil, same grape, same latitude. In Sancerre, a good part of the price is the name on the label.

This bottle comes from Tracy & Cie, the range from the family behind Château de Tracy, one of the oldest estates in the region and a reference point for Loire Sauvignon over many generations. Few people know this grape and this ground better.

The 2025 is clean and exact: white peach and grapefruit pith, then wet stone and a long saline finish. A good Sancerre of this quality can run well north of forty dollars.
