Chateau Peyrabon Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois 2016

$23.00

2016 turned out to be a classic year for the left bank and particularly for Cabernet Sauvignon which dominates this blend from Château Peyrabon. The property is an unusual cru Bourgeois as the vineyards are split between the Haut-Médoc and Pauillac appellations which gives the wine a wonderful density and depth of flavor in a smooth and soft-textured style. Since the purchase by Patrick Bernard in 1998, the wines have seen a serious increase in quality, and today, is considered one of the jewels of the Cru Bourgeois appellation. An incredibly enjoyable bottle of wine to drink after an hour or so in a decanter.

“Built on some serious Cabernet Sauvignon, this blend runs full throttle into rich, ripe black fruit motifs with plenty of structural support from grippy and energetic tannins that are well balanced by bright acidity, engaging textures, and a lingering finish.” 90 points, Decanter
