Chateau Lamothe Bergeron Cru Bourgeois Superieur 2016
$27.00
We’re hitting the ten year mark for the impressive 2016 vintage – which the Bordelais describe as unarguably the best of its decade. Château Lamothe-Bergeron is now produced by our dear friend Charles Lemoine and luckily for us, he released a parcel of the 2016 vintage direct from their cellars for us to enjoy. The wine combines rich black fruit flavors with refined tannins and subtle oak spice, making it versatile enough to pair beautifully with a wide range of dishes from steak to roasted meats. For those who love Claret with a bit of bottle age and perfect provenance, this should not be missed.
“The 2016 Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron has impressive freshness and vitality on the nose. buoyant black fruit mixed with tobacco and graphite. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, harmonious in the mouth with good depth, a lot of new oak on the finish but that should be subsumed by the time this is in bottle. Real potential here.” 91 points, Wine Advocate
