Description
A Proibida — ‘the forbidden’ — is named for the Portuguese law that once banned winemaking on the Azores’ volcanic island of Pico, where vines grow inside stone corrals (currais) built to protect them from Atlantic winds. Arinto dos Açores and Terrantez from ancient lava soils: saline, mineral, volcanic and utterly unlike any other wine on earth. One of the world’s great wine stories in a bottle.
