Amiral de Beychevelle Saint Julien 2019

Amiral de Beychevelle is the second wine of Château Beychevelle, but there’s nothing second rate about it. Same meticulous sorting, same traditional barrel aging, made from younger vines on the same exceptional Saint Julien terroir.

The 2019 is hitting its stride. Dense purple in the glass, ripe blackcurrants and blueberries, tobacco leaf, cedar, and damp earth. Classic Left Bank structure with a plush, round finish. 92 points from Jeb Dunnuck.
