Limited Preorder Opportunities

We are offering a small parcel of pre-purchase wines at some of the lowest levels we have seen in years.

Dear friends.

We are offering a small parcel of pre-purchase wines that will be arriving in Bermuda at the earliest in May 2025 and at the latest in October 2026 of this year (depending on the shipping window).

All wines are direct from the Château and represent some of the best value in Bordeaux today. Prices for these wines are at some of the lowest levels we have seen in years, and I struggle to see them going much lower. Buyers are aggressively snapping up these values, and if you have space in your cellar, I recommend doing the same.

The 2015 and especially 2016 vintage offer fantastic value right now, making the Haut Brion and Mouton wines hard to resist. Figeac 2018 is priced well below the current release price, making it an attractive quality-to-price ratio on a 100-point wine.

The 2022 vintage is getting all the hype right now, and I had a chance to taste through most of the 2022’s just a month ago. The Léoville Poyferré 2022 was far and away my favorite and offers wine lovers a punt at a wine that may appreciate nicely, given some time. In the worst-case scenario, you will have one of the best bottles of wine from the vintage in your cellar.

Figeac 2018– $200 per bottle (cash transfer) $210 per bottle via credit card

With its rich swathe of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has density and immense structure balanced by stunning black fruits that give impressive promise. This powerful wine is probably the greatest ever produced from this estate. Drink from 2027

Chateau Haut Brion 2015 – $520 per bottle (cash transfer) $550 per bottle via credit card

The 2015 Haut Brion is a perfect wine that couldn’t be any better and is certainly at the top of this great vintage. A blend of 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Cabernet Franc, this full-bodied, concentrated, backward, yet sensationally pure 2015 boast knockout notes of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, ground herbs, and graphite, with a terrific damp earth/minerality quality emerging with time in the glass. Straight, focused, and built like a skyscraper, with a stacked mid-palate, forget bottles for 7-8 years and enjoy over the following three to four decades.

Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2015 – $540 per bottle (cash transfer) $570 per bottle via credit card

The crème de la crème from the northern Médoc is the 2015 Mouton Rothschild and this incredible wine flirts with perfection. Made from 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, this inky purple-colored effort offers sensational Cabernet flare in its crème de cassis, graphite, lead pencil shavings, floral, and Asian spice aromas and flavors. It is full-bodied, dense, and incredibly concentrated, yet still has the sexy, opulent, seductive style of the vintage front and center. It will be a candidate for perfection in 10-12 years and is going to be one of the longest-lived wines in the vintage. Hats off to Philippe Dhalluim and his team for this incredible effort that’s a step up over just about every other northern Médoc out there!

Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2016 – $650 per bottle (cash transfer) $680 per bottle via credit card

I believe the 2016 Château Mouton Rothschild will be one of the legendary wines of the 21st century, and it might be the finest wine I’ve ever tasted. Still deep purple-hued and incredibly young, it offers an incredible sense of purity and precision in its darker currant, blueberry, and cassis-like fruits as well as classic graphite, lead pencil, violet, and tobacco aromatics. With flawless balance and perfect integration of its fruit, acidity, oak, and tannins, this concentrated, full-bodied, utterly magical Pauillac is going to need 15 years to hit its prime drink window, and I suspect will see its 75th birthday in fine form.

Leoville Poyferre 2022 – $120 a bottles (cash transfer) $125 per bottle via credit card

Reminding me of the 2018 (as well as the 2009), if not slightly more concentrated, the 2022 Château Léoville Poyferré is one of the most opulent and flamboyant wines out of the Médoc in 2022, and it has incredible intensity while staying light on its feet and graceful. Its dense, glass-staining purple hue is followed by a sensational perfume of crème de cassis, graphite, darker chocolate, scorched earth, and flowers. Full-bodied on the palate, it brings extravagant levels of fruit as well as a seamless mouthfeel, beautifully integrated oak, tannins, and acidity, no hard edges, and a gorgeous finish. It shines even today, yet it has a beautiful underlying structure and will evolve gracefully over the coming 30+ years. The 2022 is based on 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 4% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged 18-20 months in 80% new oak.
