The excitement and hype around the Bordeaux 2022s continues, and I had the pleasure of meeting with Pierre Courdurie in Paris to taste through his Croix de Labrie line-up. Pierre owns a unique parcel of land in Saint-Emilion and has spent his career farming and bringing the vines into balance. In my opinion, his 2022 is one of the gems of the vintage and offers a glimpse into all his hard work over the years.
What truly stands out about this wine is its beautiful blue fruit concentration, innate freshness, and perfect balance of oak. This is one for the cellar, and you can’t buy enough at this price.
Our parcel of wine comes directly from Pierre’s cellar to your door, landing May 2025 or October 2025, depending on shipping times.
Sticking with the 2022 vintage, but this time out of Douro Valley in Portugal, we have a tiny parcel of Quinta do Noval ‘Nacional’ 2022 Vintage Port. This is one of the finest ports in the world, made from ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines and only in the best vintages.
I was lucky enough to taste this wine in Paris, and the potential is huge, with the scores to match.
