October 2026 Case of the Month – Fall Favorites

$245.70

As the seasons shift and cooler days settle in, these wines offer the perfect transition into fall drinking. Pazo Señorans Rías Baixas Colección 2022, a rich, lees-aged Albariño with more weight and texture than you’d expect from Rías Baixas. Schloss Gobelsburg Ried Lamm Grüner Veltliner 2022 brings mineral-driven depth and a peppery spice, while the Chêne Bleu Viognier 2023 adds a lush, aromatic counterpoint with notes of stone fruit and honeysuckle. Moving to the reds, the Le C de Calon Ségur Saint-Estèphe 2019 delivers structured Bordeaux elegance ideal for cooler evenings, and the Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rouge 2017 with its Mourvèdre-driven backbone, offers the kind of savory, earthy intensity that pairs beautifully with roasted meats and hearty stews. Rounding things out, the Claudie Jobard Pommard Les Vaumuriens 2023 brings silky, red-fruited Burgundian charm, a comforting nod to the season’s slower, more contemplative pace. Together, this selection captures everything we love about autumn: warmth, texture, depth, and versatility.

Pazo Señorans Rías Baixas Colección 2022

Pure, vibrant Albariño with layers of white peach, citrus, green apple and fresh herbs, lifted by a distinctly saline, mineral edge. The palate is bright and beautifully textured, balancing juicy fruit with racy acidity and a long, mouthwatering finish. Fresh, elegant and quietly complex, with the kind of energy that makes it dangerously easy to drink.

Schloss Gobelsburg Ried Lamm Grüner Veltliner 2022

Powerful yet wonderfully precise, with ripe yellow apple, pear, white pepper and delicate herbal notes layered over a deep mineral character. Concentrated and richly textured, driven by bright acidity and a gentle peppery lift that keeps everything in balance. Long, structured and effortlessly elegant, with the richness of Lamm tempered by the unmistakable freshness of great Grüner Veltliner.

Chêne Bleu Viognier 2023

From the high-altitude vineyards of the southern Rhône, this is a beautifully expressive and refined Viognier with ripe peach, apricot and honeysuckle wrapped in subtle floral and citrus notes. Rich and silky on the palate, but kept wonderfully fresh by bright acidity and the coolness of its high-altitude vineyards. Elegant rather than overtly opulent, with a long, lifted finish that shows Viognier in a particularly polished and modern light.

Le C de Calon-Ségur Saint-Estèphe 2019

As the second wine of Château Calon Ségur, this offers classic left-bank Bordeaux character in a more approachable form. Dark, polished and quietly seductive, with blackcurrant, blackberry and plum layered with graphite, cedar and a touch of violet. Structured with firm yet plush tannins wrapped around a core of ripe dark fruit and a savory, mineral edge. Serious without being austere.

Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rouge 2017

This Mourvèdre-dominant Bandol is a wine of quiet power and wild character. Nearly a decade in, it pours deep garnet with a nose that reads like a walk through the Provençal garrigue; dried herbs, wild thyme, and crushed rosemary mixed with dark plum, black olive, and a distinct game-y edge. Textured tannins built from Terrebrune’s signature long aging in old wood reveal notes of leather, black pepper, and a subtle iron minerality drawn from the estate’s clay-limestone soils. Time has softened the wine’s initial ruggedness into something more brooding and complex, with a long, savory finish that lingers on dried fig and smoked meat. One for grilled lamb rubbed in herbes de Provence, or a well-aged Comté.

Claudie Jobard Pommard Les Vaumuriens 2023

From a rising star of Burgundy’s next generation, this Pommard shows why Claudie Jobard’s wines are turning heads. Her Pommard from the very generous 2023 vintage is silky and quietly powerful, with ripe cherry, wild raspberry and plum layered with violet, warm earthy spice that’s typical of the village’s sturdy character. Classic Pommard grip on the palate, but the tannins are polished and generous, giving the wine both structure and flow. Vibrant, savory and beautifully balanced, with a long finish that leaves behind dark fruit, spice and a touch of earth. A serious Pommard with plenty of charm that would pair nicely with duck breast or a wedge of aged Epoisses.
