April 2026 Case of the Month – Spring Whites
$201.60
The whites we’re selecting this month span a range of grape varieties that perfectly complement this time of the year. Spring is the season for white wines with energy and lift, and the kind of freshness that feels completely in step with the warmer months ahead.
There’s the volcanic precision of Oremus Furmint Mandolas from the hills of Tokaj, all lemon zest and electric acidity. The quietly impressive Luneau Papin Muscadet Clos de l’Allée, lean and saline – a beautiful match with shellfish. Vincent Pinard’s Sancerre Harmonie – flinty, floral, and perfectly balanced in that way only the Loire Valley manages to do so effortlessly. A characterful white Rhône from Domaine Pichat, the eReMo Blanc brings warmth and garrigue-scented depth for evenings that still carry a little chill. The restrained Arnot-Roberts Ascona Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, from a vineyard high up in the Santa Cruz mountains that looks quietly to the Old World and produces something genuinely exciting. And Jean-Marc Pillot’s Bourgogne Aligoté – bright, chalky, and very much underrated, the perfect spring aperitif.
Six wines from six different grape varieties. All of them worth enjoying while the blossom is still on the trees.
