Le Haut Medoc d’Issan 2016

Made by the prestigious team at Margaux 3rd growth Chateau d’Issan, Haut-Médoc d’Issan ticks a lot of boxes to make your fall and winter festivities lively and delicious. Like its older sibling, is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by a small amount of Merlot. Uniquely, it’s not a second wine from younger wines but produced from a separate vineyard with its own designation which falls just outside the Margaux appellation.

From one of the most exciting vintages in recent years, it’s concentrated and precise with attractive fine-grained tannins and a fresh, focused finish. With the majority of the Grand Vins still far too young, the Haut-Médoc d’Issan offers not only a glimpse of how exciting the 2016 vintage is, but also how approachable and hugely enjoyable the wine is now and will be over the next few years.
