Pazo Señorans Rías Baixas Albariño 2024
Marisol Bueno planted Pazo Señorans in Meaño in 1989. Three decades later, the estate is the reference point for Albariño, and her daughter Vicky Mareque is making the wines.
The 2024 is taut and bright: green apple, lime pith, white flowers, wet granite. A saline edge runs through the whole glass.

Magnum of the Month
A Mâconnais Chardonnay with a gentle richness that speaks to the warmer southern end of Burgundy’s white wine spectrum. Ripe white peach, honeysuckle, and toasted hazelnut layered over a cool, limestone minerality that keeps everything fresh and lively. The palate is medium-full with a lovely creamy texture, balanced by vivid acidity and a long, gently honeyed finish. Unoaked Chardonnay from one of the appellation’s most reliable estates, and at only $58 a magnum, it’s a consistent reminder that the Mâconnais is one of Burgundy’s great bargains.

Pazo Señorans
Three Albariños from one family this Saturday.
The 2024 Albariño is the entry: taut, bright, Atlantic. Green apple, lime pith, wet granite.
The Colección 2022 is the step up. Same Val do Salnés fruit, longer on the lees, more weight in the glass.
The Selección de Añada 2015 closes it out. From the Los Bancales single vineyard, 45-year-old vines, thirty-plus months on the lees in tank before release.
