Erin and Massimo Di Costanzo are crafting some of the most exciting wines in Napa. Having met them in Saint Helena many years ago, seeing their growth and success makes it even more exciting for us to represent their wines in Bermuda.
Their focus is on heritage vineyard sites and their ‘Di Co’ bottling comes from the Rafael Vineyard at the base of Mt. Veeder in the Oak Knoll district. This wine is textbook Di Costanzo style, full of energy and vibrant fruit, bottled in perfect balance, and luckily for us, at a price point that any Napa lover should snap up quickly.

We’ve been following this estate since brothers Julien and Nicolas took over from their father Christian in 2018, and it has ‘rising star’ written all over it. They hold prime vineyard plots in Grand Cru’s Corton and Corton-Charlemagne, as well as Nuits Saint Georges, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny, the source for this incredibly fresh, vibrant and detailed Pinot Noir, showing crunchy red berry fruit, a seductive, silky tannic structure, and a long, mouthwatering finish.

This Saturday we will be cracking into our wine of the week, ‘Di Co’ alongside the single vineyard bottling Di Costanzo ‘Caldwell’ 2022. The Caldwell vineyard sits high on the rim of the Coombsville AVA and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from clippings smuggled out of Bordeaux in the early 1980s. This is a brilliant chance to taste both of these wines side by side to get a feel for the differences in the vineyards.
